Embodied Therapy

People choose to see a therapist for a variety of reasons whether it is for personal growth, an issue that needs to be resolved, a life transition, past or current trauma, difficulties in relationships, feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward, depression, anxiety, childhood adversity (neglect, abuse, attachment trauma, living with addiction) or grief and loss.  Regardless of the reasons, it takes courage to face whatever is causing you pain or suffering.

Individual Therapy

My approach to therapy comes from a place of deep respect and compassion for each and every client.  I create a safe space for you to make sense of your experiences, incorporating guided somatic work (body informed), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I work collaboratively with you to reach your desired outcome.

EMDR for Trauma

If you experienced a traumatic or distressing event (birth trauma, sexual assault, the loss of a loved one, etc.) or have a history of trauma (living with an alcoholic parent, bullying, neglect, emotional, sexual or physical abuse, etc) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic technique designed to help people cope with and heal from those experiences. Sometimes, when we experience a traumatic event, our brain struggles to process and store those memories properly, leading to emotional distress and negative feelings.  EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess those memories and store them in a healthier way. During EMDR sessions, you are guided through a series of eye movements, sounds, or tapping sensations while you focus on the difficult memory. This process helps your brain "rewire" itself and change the way it stores the memory, reducing the emotional impact it has on you.
